Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is an extensive flight and training school that has been educating students since 1928. A wide variety of training programs is available at Spartan and depends on the student’s career path and education plans. Associate of Applied Science degrees are available in programs such as aviation maintenance, avionics, quality control, and flight training. A Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technology Management is also available and can be completed in as few as sixteen months. All programs at Spartan College are geared to provide the adequate skills and training required to enter cutting edge flight and aeronautic careers.
The Aviation Maintenance Technology program at Spartan prepares students for licensing by the Federal Aviation Administration. Students gain the knowledge and training required to become FAA airframe and power plant licensed. In as little as 18 months a diploma can be received in aviation maintenance technology and in 23 months an Associate of Applied Science degree can be achieved. The program requires no experience or background in the aviation industry. Students will learn firsthand how to change a tire or repair a small single plane engine. The maintenance and repair skills gained throughout the program can also be used outside of the airline industry and brought into the automotive, racing, and marine industries.
The Avionics Technology program at Spartan requires no experience or previous work history in the aviation industry. Graduates of the 15-18 month program become specialized in the field of avionics as an electronics technician. Students have the option of receiving a diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree depending on the desired time frame. The avionics program allows students to work on real world aircraft as well as become trained in the removal and installation of electronic equipment.
