The school offers certificates that specialize in the automotive industry. Some of the school’s programs include automotive technician, automotive HVAC essentials, and automotive transmissions essentials. The automotive HVAC essentials certificate program is broken into two parts, the heating portion and the air conditioning part. Students are introduced to the basics in automotive heating and cooling systems, air conditioning, types of refrigerants, the EPA regulations, testing and troubleshooting, and computerized controlled systems. All coursework is hands-on to ensure students grasp the application behind the concept. The automotive transmissions essentials certificate includes a series of courses broken into two categories. The first category is the manual transmissions module and is comprised of an introduction to manual transmissions, clutches and transaxles, drive shafts and differentials, four wheel drive and drive train electrical systems, and practical exercise. The second category is the automatic transmissions module and is made up of lessons in automatic transmissions, planetary gears and hydraulics, common and electronic automatic transmissions, and a practical exercise session.
