New England Tractor Trailer Training School

New England Tractor Trailer Training School was founded in 1965 and provides advanced tractor trailer training to students in three states. Campus locations include Hartford, CT; Springfield, MA; Pawtucket, RI; North Andover, MD; and Bridgeport, CT. Each campus location is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. NETTTS is approved by the Rhode Island Board of Governors and the State of Connecticut Department of Higher Education.



New England Tractor Trailer Training School offers several programs including commercial driver’s license preparation, commercial heavy straight truck training, commercial driver license, and advanced tractor trailer driving. NETTS focuses on hands on short-term training that is geared to prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation.

The NETTTS CDL preparation program teaches students general CDL knowledge, brake systems, CDL air brakes, hazardous material, vehicle inspections, uncoupling/coupling, straight backing, alley dock backing, parallel parking, state examination, and highway/city driving. The CDL preparation training course prepares students for the written and driving tests to receive a class A CDL. Students are able to use NETTTS trucking/trailer equipment and driving locations.

The New England Tractor Trailer Training School also helps students with finding a job upon graduation. The school maintains close ties with several trucking businesses and serves as an advocate for their graduates. Career specialists teach students how to effectively interview for driving positions, complete job applications, and search for jobs on the Internet. Although the school cannot guarantee employment for all graduates, the likelihood of receiving employment is greater for those who participate in career services.

NETTTS also offers current truck drivers license upgrade training. Upgrade advanced training begins with an evaluation of the employees experience and current skills, and then creates a custom program curtailed to the driver’s needs.
