The Nashville Auto-Diesel College was established in 1919 and has continued its tradition of being committed to its students' success ever since. Automobile mechanics was the College's initial concentration. Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology began in 1946, and Diesel engine training started in 1935.

NADC has been approved for veteran's training since 1946, and roughly 30 states use the school to train disabled veterans with vocational rehabilitation.
