Capitol City Trade and Technical School
Capitol City Trade and Technical School offers hands-on training programs that prepare students for entry-level employment positions in drafting and CAD, heating and air conditioning, and automotive technician. The school is located on Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas and occupies approximately 33,000 square feet of office, classroom, and laboratory space. The school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education in Atlanta, Georgia. Capitol City Trade has also been approved by the Texas Workforce Commission for Career Schools and Colleges.
The automotive repair technician program available at Capitol City provides a curriculum designed for students who want to pursue a career as an automotive service technician. Students learn the fundamentals of automobile mechanics and electrical systems of all modern automobiles. The program also includes courses in brake systems, suspension and steering, heating and air-conditioning systems, engine performance, and electronic systems. Upon graduation of the program, students possess the necessary skills required for entry-level employment as a repair technician, auto mechanic, or independent auto garage worker.
Job placement services are available through the career services department at Capitol City Trade. Students gain helpful assistance with employment searches, resume preparation, and interviewing processes. The career center also assists students with part-time employment opportunities while attending school on a part- or full-time basis. Staff and faculty advising is also available to students in both academic and personal counseling.
Off-campus housing is not available at Capitol City; however, the school does provide assistance to students who require housing in the area. The student services director is available to assist students with their housing needs. Due to the convenient location of the school and easy access to highways, most students commute short and long distances to class. Ample parking is available on campus and is free of charge.
